Lisa L. Johnson is a native Floridian, born in West Palm Beach and reared in Riviera Beach, FL. Lisa is a mother of three adult children and grandmother of three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Lisa is currently the Director of Human Resources at a local upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). She holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and an Associate of Arts in Accounting. Lisa plans to return to Jacksonville Theological Seminary to complete her Doctoral Degree in Minister of Christian Counseling.
Lisa has overcome many obstacles in her life. She often reflects and states: “Out of all the things I’ve been through, I still have joy.” She does not allow the circumstances of her past to dictate the promises of her future. Lisa uses her experiences to encourage and motivate young girls and women to embrace authenticity and search for healing and wholeness in their minds through her ministry, It’s A Girl’s Thing, LLC. She also challenges them to strive for success, chase their dreams, and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
Lisa is no stranger to her local community. She began singing at the age of five, with her sister and became the Lead Singer with the Original Singing Angels Gospel Group under the direction of her mother. As a youth, Lisa was an oratorical speaker, winning many oratorical contests throughout Palm Beach County, Florida. Lisa is an advocate for mental health. She is a NAMI member and has hosted several mental health awareness events in her local community. Lisa is a Minister, Evangelist and Mental Health Coordinator at Oasis Church International, WPB, FL. She is a Certified Chaplain with CTW International Chaplaincy. She is also a Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., West Palm Beach Alumnae Chapter. Lisa is a Published Author of I'm Coming Out: 31 Days of Renewal.
Lisa has been involved in her community for nearly two decades, as a youth mentor, feeding and providing clothing to the homeless, ministering at the prisons, youth detention center, street ministry, etc.
